About Diemenica.
Mentha – from a Latin name for mint;
diemenica – of Tasmania (known earlier as Van Diemen’s Land), where the species occurs.
A herbaceous plant local to my area. Mentha diemenica, or Wild Mint, is endemic to Australia. I planted a lot of it in a past job and the strong aroma and name stuck with me. It would make more sense if I was from Tasmania, but alas, I was stuck on the name before I looked up the meaning.
